Oldest stone house, built 1769 by John Foulke, Home of Joel & Abigail Heacock. Scientist-son J. Levi Heacock, Esq., an early weather pioneer, recorded local conditions; filed regular reports to the government in Washington. As Burgess and council member 1860-90's, he led the multi-year fight for electric lights.
